Trip to Suttons seeds at Newton Abbot.

A group of sixteen members visited Suttons seeds on 17th August 2011. Although there was light rain falling we had a really enjoyable day. Firstly, we received a short talk from a member of Suttons team and then we were invited to explore the extensive trial fields, tunnels and greenhouses.

Before we set off we were issued with blue marker sticks. We were asked to place them against plants that we particularly liked. This helps Suttons to select plants for inclusion in next seasons catalogue.

Of course the whole site was full of wonderful plants. There were also plenty of staff members on hand to deal with any questions and to discuss general horticultural issues.

There was a Garden Centre situated adjacent to the site and we were also able to use their restaurant for lunch.

This was an excellent day out, thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.
